The Moscow Magistrates’ Court received a new protocol on an administrative offense against Twitter, drawn up by Roskomnadzor due to the social network’s refusal to remove content prohibited in Russia. About it informs Interfax.
“The Magistrates’ Court Registers Administrative Material Against Twitter Ink. The date of the hearing has not yet been set, ”the court said.
In the Moscow Magistrates’ Court, the agency was also told that they received a protocol on an administrative offense in relation to the GitHub web service, also issued by Roskomnadzor due to the refusal to delete content prohibited in Russia.
Google, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok have more than once been prosecuted in Russia for failure to remove prohibited content (Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The amount of fines against all foreign companies since the beginning of the year has already exceeded 200 million rubles.
