The working group, which included representatives of the prosecutor’s office, Rostekhnadzor, police and officials, after the accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine carried out an inspection of the mines of the Kemerovo region, during which hundreds of violations were revealed. About it writes Interfax with reference to the statement of the region’s governor Sergei Tsivilev.

“We created a working group right after the accident, checked all coal mines. Now the cuts are checked. We have more than 600 violations, they are eliminated on the spot, but there is not a single one, according to which it is possible to issue an order to suspend work due to the risk to the health of workers, ”the agency quoted Tsivilev as saying.

The accident at Listvyazhnaya in the village of Gramoteino occurred on the morning of November 25. A methane explosion occurred in the ventilation drift. There were 285 people underground, of which more than 200 made it to the surface on their own.

Killed, according to the latest data, 46 workers of the enterprise and five mine rescuers. One rescuer himself managed to get out of the mine on November 26. The total number of victims has reached 96.

After the accident, the miners said that the work in the mine was carried out with gross violations. According to them, the sensors issued at the mine were glued with adhesive tape inside in order to bring down the indicators.

Criminal cases were initiated under Part 3 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence) and under Part 3 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code (negligence resulting in the death of two or more persons).

47-year-old director of the mine Sergei Makhrakov, his 59-year-old first deputy Andrei Molostov and 36-year-old site manager Sergei Gerasimenok were arrested under the article on violation of industrial safety. On charges of negligence, the chief state inspectors of the Belovsky territorial department of the Siberian department of Rostekhnadzor Vyacheslav Semykin and Sergei Vinokurov were sent to the pre-trial detention center. All defendants deny guilt.

Mine employees have repeatedly complained about the working conditions. Listvyazhnaya’s revenue in 2020 amounted to 9.4 billion rubles. Net profit exceeded 836 million rubles. The mine is owned by SDS-Ugol, owned by Mikhail Fedyaev, Vladimir Gridin and Andrey Gridin.
