The judge of the judicial section of the Yashkul district of Kalmykia sentenced a local farmer to a year of restriction of freedom for keeping a shepherd on his farm for two months. The farmer was found guilty of unlawfully imprisoning a person.
How reported For Mediazone, the lawyer of the victim Dmitry Burtsev, Vladimir Olyakhinov, since January 7, 2021, his client has been working as a shepherd at a livestock camp in the Yakshul region. A week later, he wanted to return home to Stavropol, as he did not like the conditions. However, the owner of the farm did not let him leave. Press service of the movement “Alternative” reportedthat a man named Magomed Burtsev got to a farm in the village of Molodezhny, Yakshulsky district of Kalmykia, by invitation in January 2021. The owner took away his documents and phone, forcing him to work for free. The victim’s mother said that her son was “beaten like a dog” and he was sleeping in “some kind of farm building”.
Burtsev had neither money nor a telephone connection. He tried to run twice, but failed. In March, he made a third attempt – the owner of the farm caught up with him and hit him in a car, Burtsev had to crawl along the highway for two days with a fractured pelvis. During this time, no one paid attention to him, reported “Alternative”. Two days later, a car stopped for the first time next to the crawling man. A driver named Andrei took Dmitry Burtsev to the hospital.
