The authorities want to use artificial intelligence to analyze the “psychological state” of Russians from their social media accounts. As a result of the work, a psychodiagnostic technology should appear for analyzing social network profile data. The government claims that such technology will help fight death groups, citizen involvement in terrorist activities and extremism.
According to the lawyers interviewed by the publication, the use of such technology may contradict the current legislation on the protection of personal data.
“At the end of last year, amendments to the law on personal data were adopted, according to which data published by citizens can be used for any analysis only with their consent,” Oleg Blinov, a teacher at the Moscow Digital School, told the publication.
“When we post photos on social networks, we expect that they will be of interest to our friends and acquaintances. However, it turns out that a certain FGBU will collect your data and assign you “personality assessments”, carry out “psychological diagnostics”, the goals of which are not clear, ”he explained.
