Dozens of former employees of Metrostroy went to Smolny due to non-payment of salaries

Several dozen former employees of the bankrupt Metrostroy company came to the building of the St. Petersburg government due to non-payment of salaries. About it informs Mediazona.

People went to Smolny at about 11 am. They wrote a statement addressed to the vice-governor of the city, Maxim Sokolov, who oversees the transport committee and the transport infrastructure development committee.

“No one is leaving, we are waiting for the authorities to come to us, they will talk to us and there will be some decision on our issue,” the newspaper quotes one of the participants in the action.

Recall that in 2017, the police detained the general director of Metrostroy, Andrei Morozov, in the case of non-payment of 719 million rubles in taxes. A year later, metro builders refused to rise to the surface due to salary delays. At the same time, the authorities reported that the organization had enough money for this.

The workers ended the strike after the local authorities promised to solve the problem, but only those who went on strike were paid money. In January 2019, the Federal Tax Service and the Interdistrict Inspectorate of the Service for the largest taxpayers demanded that Metrostroy be declared bankrupt. According to company representatives, such a measure is of a “technical nature” and it is necessary for the debtor and the tax authority to enter into an amicable agreement for payment by installments.
