The Ministry of Justice has updated the register of “foreign agents”. The list included LLC “Nobel Prize”, created by people previously recognized as “foreign agents”, as well as the editor-in-chief of the Sota publication Oleg Elanchik. New entries appeared in the list on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

LLC “Nobel Prize” was created by Elizaveta Surnacheva (worked in the publication “Project”), Galina Arapova (director of the “Media Rights Protection Center”), Tatiana Voltskaya (“Radio Liberty”), Ekaterina Klepikovskaya (“Sever.Realii”), Elizaveta Maetnaya (Radio Liberty), Roman Perl (collaborated with the Nastoyaschye Vremya TV channel), Evgeny Simonov (international coordinator of the Rivers without Borders coalition), Elena Solovieva (Sever.Realii), Daniil Sotnikov (Rain) … According to the law, individuals who are declared foreign agents in Russia must create a legal entity.

At the end of 2019, the State Duma adopted a law allowing individuals to be included in the register of media outlets – “foreign agents”. A person can be assigned such a status if he receives any foreign funding and distributes “printed, audio, audiovisual and other messages and materials intended for an unlimited number of people,” including on the Internet.
