Seven suspects and defendants inflicted wounds on themselves in SIZO No. 4 of the Volgograd Region, informs “Interfax” with reference to the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the region.

“One of the accused, being in the punishment cell, simulated a suicide attempt, after which he was sent to the medical correctional institution No. 15 for a medical examination,” the message says. The rest of the prisoners were provided with the necessary medical assistance on the spot, their condition is assessed as satisfactory. A check is being carried out on the indicated facts.

How informs local edition V1.ru, men cut their hands and stomachs. The mother of one of the victims said that her son complained about provocations and insults from the SIZO staff and said that the accused are often placed in a punishment cell. The information about the insults was confirmed by the mother of another injured prisoner. Also, one of the women said that the SIZO does not provide the necessary medical assistance.

“I came to my son on a second date and I saw that his arm was bandaged. She asked what was the matter with him. He reluctantly, but still said that he again had severe pains. He asked him to measure at least the pressure. The FSIN officers took pity, measured the indicators, and his blood pressure was already 180! Despite such pressure, the son was pushed into a car and taken away for interrogation, having injected him literally on the go. He said that he could not stand the pain and cut his hands for this very reason, ”the woman said.

According to a V1.RU source familiar with the cases of some prisoners, the security forces consider the young people’s act as blackmailing the prison administration. The employees of the pre-trial detention center have reason to believe that the suspects in various crimes tried to impose their own order in the institution.

The press service of the FSIN said that the issue of initiating a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 321 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (disorganization of the activities of institutions providing isolation from society). The maximum sentence under this article is five years in prison.
