In Tyumen, an employee of the regional department of the RF IC was detained, who is suspected of having committed an accident while intoxicated. While driving, the suspect hit two road workers. They died at the scene.

An accident involving a BMW car occurred on the night of November 24 at the Fedyuninsky Street overpass in Tyumen. After the arrest, the suspect was sent for a medical examination for the state of intoxication, informs site of the regional administration of the RF IC. By data group “Traffic accident in Tyumen” in the social network “VKontakte”, behind the wheel of the BMW was the deputy head of the investigation department, 34-year-old Major of Justice Pavel Shadrin. His actions killed 61-year-old Pavel Kolchanov and 35-year-old Vadim Morozov.

The criminal case was initiated under clause “a” of part 6 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of the road, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence, committed by a person in a state of intoxication). The accused faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of eight to 15 years.

“The scene of the incident, the car was examined with the participation of a specialist, the damage was recorded, traces and objects of the crime that were important for the investigation were seized, witnesses and eyewitnesses were questioned, expert examinations were appointed,” the RF IC said in a press release.

The investigation will apply for the arrest of the suspect. “In the near future, the issue of the dismissal of this employee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for negative reasons will be resolved,” the statement added. They assured that “the investigation intends to bring the culprit of the accident, regardless of his position, rank and affiliation to the department, to criminal liability to the fullest extent of the law.”
