Irina Fatyanova, the former head of Navalny’s headquarters in St. Petersburg, left Russia. About this she reported in their social networks.
“I left Russia. It was the hardest decision of my life. Nine years ago, moving to St. Petersburg, I could not even imagine that everything would turn out like this and I would have to leave my beloved city for an indefinite period of time, ”she wrote.
“Over the past year, my red line has been shifting all the time. Coming to work at the headquarters, I was ready for fines, days in a special detention center, searches and interrogations. Remember, this was once the worst side effect. At some point, my line shifted to a criminal sentence of several years (I think five). I was just ready to sit down. Never. But the story with Lilya Chanysheva changed a lot and helped me understand that I needed to leave, ”the activist said.
Fatyanova added that she does not know when she will return. Where exactly she went is not specified.
Fatyanova ran for the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, but her nomination was canceled “in connection with the implementation of extremist activities.”
In addition, Fatyanova was a witness in a criminal case of road closures during a January rally in support of politician Alexei Navalny. In this regard, in August they came to her with a search under this article.
