The former head of the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Yekaterinburg and his wife must, by a court order, pay the state 7.4 million rubles, equivalent to the cost of real estate, which they bought with income received from an unconfirmed source. About it informs E1.ru with reference to the prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk region.
During the audit, the supervisory authority found that the official and his wife in 2015 acquired real estate with a total value of more than 15.2 million rubles. This amount “significantly exceeded the total income” of the spouses in the three years preceding the transaction.
After checking, the prosecutor’s office made a submission to the head of Yekaterinburg, after which the labor contract with the head of the district was terminated by agreement of the parties. The department also sent a claim to the court for the recovery of an amount equivalent to the cost of housing purchased with money of unknown origin to the state income.
The prosecutor’s office did not name the ex-official. However, it is known that from 2016 to 2021, the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny District was headed by Andrey Kurochkin. He worked in the district administration for almost 20 years. Before becoming the head of the district, Kurochkin was engaged in the development of the consumer market.
Kurochkin was dismissed from his post as head of the district with the phrase “of his own free will.” At that time, the prosecutor’s office had already carried out a check in relation to him related to violations of anti-corruption legislation. The reason for her was that Kurochkin did not declare income from the lease of commercial real estate, which was registered in the name of his wife.
