The Magistrates’ Court in Moscow once again fined Telegram for refusing to delete information prohibited in Russia. About it reported press secretary of the Tagansky court Zulfiya Gurinchuk.
The messenger was found guilty of an administrative offense under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. A fine of 3 million rubles was imposed.
Thus, the amount of judicial fines received by Telegram since the beginning of the year amounted to more than 40 million rubles. Some of the court decisions have not yet entered into legal force.
The largest Internet services – Google, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok – have been fined many times in Russia for not removing content prohibited in the country. According to Roskomnadzor, in 2021, these services did not remove or untimely removed calls for minors to participate in unauthorized protests.
The amount of fines against all companies is already about 200 million rubles.
