Blogger Yuri Khovansky, awaiting the end of the investigation into the justification of terrorism, said that the investigation had found dummy witnesses. According to him, they testified that Khovansky sang the song for which he is being persecuted in 2018, and not in 2012, when the criminal article on justifying terrorism did not yet exist in the form in which it is imputed.

About this Khovansky wrote in a letter to journalist Denis Kasyanchuk. “There is no point in supporting me, it’s over,” the letter says. – I do not believe that everything will be fine. The investigation found false witnesses – they gave false testimony that I sang the song in 2018, and not in 2012. Now no statute of limitations applies to me. This means seven years in prison, which in my case is tantamount to a death sentence. I am essentially already dead. They sentenced me to death. These outrageous people cannot be stopped, they use left-wing witnesses to the right and to the left, they won’t get anything for it ”. Khovansky also said in a letter that they plan to put him in a mental hospital.

Blogger earlier in court to extend the term of a preventive measure told about serious health problems. He stated that he would not survive a further stay in the pre-trial detention center. According to Khovansky, he suffers from “circulatory and organ problems.” Khovansky asked to let him celebrate the New Year with loved ones, but the court extended the detention in the pre-trial detention center for another 2 months – until January 8, 2022.

Recall that the reason for initiating a case on justifying terrorism was the song performed by Khovansky about the terrorist attack on Dubrovka in 2002 with obscene expressions in relation to the child victims of the terrorist attack. Later, he repeatedly apologized for the performance of this song, but the case was still opened. Also, the video blogger was included in the register of Russian individuals involved in terrorism and extremism.

According to the investigation, Khovansky’s song contained “signs of public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism and its propaganda.” The blogger faces from five to seven years in prison with a ban on engaging in certain activities.
