The prosecutor’s office asked to sentence 18-year-old Valeria Bashkirova, who hit three children at a pedestrian crossing in Moscow, to six years in a general regime colony. About it informs press service of the department.
The prosecution also asks to ban Bashkirova from driving for three years and to satisfy civil claims from the victims in full.
The accident occurred on July 16 on Aviatorov Street in the Solntsevo area. Two adults with a stroller and a nine-month-old baby, and children of four and five years old, were crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The main blow fell on children. Two children were killed.
Bashkirova was prosecuted for violation of traffic rules, which inadvertently resulted in the death of two or more persons (part 5 of article 264 of the Criminal Code). The girl was sent to a pre-trial detention center. The maximum sentence under this article is seven years in prison.
