In Minsk, a court fined pensioner Alyaksandr Rachkovsky 10 basic units (290 Belarusian rubles) under the article on non-declaration of cash transferred across the border (part 2 of article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus). About it writes Onliner edition.
The judge ruled to confiscate more than $ 60,000 and 400 rubles from the pensioner as state revenue. Rachkovsky was accused of entering the green corridor at the airport on July 11 this year, having with him more than $ 70,000 that were not declared, and 400 rubles.
The pensioner and his wife were going to fly to Turkey, where they planned to buy a house. For this, the couple took with them a large sum of money. In court, a transcript of a conversation between Rachkovsky and his wife with a customs officer in the green corridor was read out. Rachkovsky said that he would go to the red corridor, but the customs officer told him that this should have been done right away.
According to the pensioner, he also told the customs officer that he needed to declare money and a laptop. He stressed that he “voluntarily presented all the money” and had documents confirming its origin with him.
The protocol notes that Rachkovsky followed the green corridor, which “is a statement by an individual about the absence of goods subject to customs declaration.” The pensioner pleaded guilty for “unknowingly stepping over the line of the green corridor.”
