Ministry of Justice added registry new “foreign agents”. Now the list includes the lawyer of the journalist Ivan Safronov, Ivan Pavlov, and four other former employees of the human rights organization “Team 29”. The human rights organization Russian LGBT Network was also included in the register of unregistered public associations performing the functions of a “foreign agent”.

The list of “foreign agents” included lawyers Maxim Olenichev, Valeria Vetoshkina, ex-head of the media department of “Team 29” Maxim Conspiracy and journalist Elena Skvortsova. Earlier her deducted from St. Petersburg State University, refusing to accept practice in the “Team 29”. She is 23 years old.

Ivan Pavlov defended the journalist, adviser to the head of Roscosmos, Ivan Safronov, who is accused of high treason. On April 30, in one of the hotels in Moscow, a lawyer was detained… Searches were carried out in his room, as well as in Pavlov’s wife and in the office of Team 29 in St. Petersburg.

On the same day, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow extended the arrest of the journalist in the high treason case until July 7. On July 16, Roskomnadzor blocked the Team 29 website.

In April 2021, Pavlov became a defendant in a criminal case on the disclosure of data from a preliminary investigation. The investigation believes that the lawyer illegally organized the publication of the decree on bringing Safronov as an accused, and also told reporters about a secret witness in the journalist’s case. Pavlov also does not admit his guilt and considers the claims of the investigation to be unfounded. According to the position of the lawyer, he reported to the media about violations of the law against Safronov.

September 7 Pavlov reportedthat he left Russia. He is now in Georgia.
