A drone loaded with explosives attacked the residence of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi in Baghdad on the night of November 7. How informs BBC, al-Kazimi himself was not injured, several of his guards were injured.

“I am fine, thank God, among my people, and I call on everyone to calm and restraint in the name of Iraq. Traitorous missiles will not be able to shake one iota of the resilience and persistence of our heroic security forces in preserving the security of the people, ”- wrote prime on Twitter.

He also made a televised address about the assassination attempt.

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s residence is located in Baghdad’s well-guarded Green Zone, home to foreign embassies and government facilities.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

This July, al-Kazimi told in an interview with the Saudi TV channel Al Hadath, that during his tenure as prime minister, there were three assassination attempts against him. “It doesn’t bother me. I am not afraid and will continue to work in accordance with the plan that we have drawn up for the leadership of the country, ”said the head of government.

Al-Kazimi has led the Iraqi government since May 2020.
