Due to the worsening epidemic situation in the region, the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan will introduce QR codes for travel in public transport. About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

“It is planned to suspend the validity of transport cards for persons over 60 years old who do not have a QR code or a certificate of medical withdrawal. Also, transportation by public transport of persons over 18 years old will only be provided with a QR code or a certificate of medical withdrawal, ”the press service noted.

According to the information, published on the website of the President of Tatarstan, the non-working days in the region will not be extended. At the same time, “strict restrictions” on the operation of a number of facilities and on the holding of entertainment and mass events will continue to operate.

Over the past day, 217 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been identified in Tatarstan, 11 people have died.

Currently, there are QR codes in the region for visiting shopping centers, shops with an area of more than 150 m² and other objects. In addition, the authorities of Tatarstan have banned the work of all catering establishments and shops at night. An exception is made only for pharmacies and petrol stations.
