The Chertanovsky District Court of Moscow arrested the artist Farhad Israfilli-Gelman for 15 days for “disobeying a police officer” (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). About it informs Novaya Gazeta citing Pussy Riot participant Alexander Sofeyev.
“I think that this is a preventive detention in honor of another public holiday, which we can only guess from such detentions,” the newspaper reports the words of Sofeyev.
Last November, Israfilli-Gelman, along with Pussy Riot members Maria Alekhina and Rita Flores spent an action against police violence in Manezhnaya Square. Alekhine and Flores tied the artist, dressed in the uniform of a policeman, to a lamp post with duct tape, on which was written “Caution, fragile.”
All three were subsequently arrested. Israfilli-Guelman and Alekhina were fined, Rita Flores was sentenced to 25 days of arrest.
