Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the integration of the so-called Union State. About it informs RIA Novosti.

“I see that Putin signed, and I will sign,” the agency quotes Lukashenka.

The document approves agreements on all 28 union programs that Putin and Lukashenko approved in September. In addition, it describes the main directions for the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State until 2023.

Ways called the signing of the decree “a serious step forward” for the integration of the two countries.

“It has absolutely nothing to do with the internal political agendas in our countries. It is associated with the need to effectively operate our economies and create competitive advantages in order to increase the efficiency of our work, which ultimately aims to improve the well-being of our citizens, “Putin said.

The programs for the integration of the so-called Union State, adopted at the beginning of autumn, presuppose the unification of the work of monetary systems, and also postulate general principles for the collection of certain taxes, unified approaches to pension fees and social security issues. In addition, the countries agreed to jointly fight terrorism and have mutual access to government procurement and government orders.

Macroeconomic policy should also become common: countries integrate payment systems and “harmonize” monetary policy, as well as form joint markets for oil and gas and other resources.

Putin and Lukashenko also adopted the Military Doctrine of the Union State and the Concept of the Migration Policy of the two countries. The new military doctrine should allow “to increase the level of coherence of defense policy and timely adapt the tasks of the defense ministries of the two countries. The concept of migration policy will determine the directions of the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, security agencies, border services, foreign affairs agencies in the field of migration, taking into account the increase in migration flows.

Russia and Belarus signed the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State on December 8, 1999. By the 20th anniversary of the document, a working group was created to develop industry roadmaps. After that, Moscow and Minsk reformatted the agreements into union integration programs. Most of them are calculated until 2025, some until 2027.
