The defendant in the “Rostov case” Yan Sidorov was released from the Ulyanovsk colony after 4 years of imprisonment for a picket against the arson of houses in Rostov. About it informs UNDER.
On the eve of the Ulyanovsk colony No. 10 refused the claim for the establishment of administrative supervision over him.
Let us remind you that previously convicted activists, including Sidorov, were reduced by 4 years in a strict regime colony. Sidorov was sentenced to 6.5 years. The activist was detained on November 5, 2017 during a picket near the regional administration, at which he demanded the resignation of governments and the return of land to the “Rostov victims”.
The basis for the initiation of the case was an anonymous denunciation of the impending riots and a Telegram chat “Revolution 5.11.17 Rostov-on-Don.” According to the prosecution, Sidorov allegedly “intended to commit provocations against law enforcement officials while trying to detain these participants in the riots, and thereby tried to start them.”
The defendants at the trial repeatedly reported torture. Most of the prosecution’s witnesses retracted their testimonies during the preliminary investigation.
