An-12 plane crashed near Irkutsk, reported TASS at the Siberian Aviation Search Rescue Center. According to the agency’s source in the emergency services, the plane belongs to the Belarusian airline Grodno and was on a cargo flight.

“According to preliminary data, the crash site was found – it is the area of the village of Pivovarikha, not far from the airfield. When landing, the plane made a go-around and disappeared from the radar, ”said a representative of the Siberian Aviation Search Rescue Center.

According to the director of the Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Service of the Irkutsk region, Oleg Fedotov, the plane fell in the forest and caught fire.

The combustion area is 300 m². 46 people and 17 pieces of equipment are working at the scene, the Emergencies Ministry said.
