British writer George Orwell entered the top of the most published authors in Russia. Industry results for the past nine months of this year let down Russian Book Chamber.
The most published author in Russia is again the American writer Stephen King (novels “Confrontation”, “Carrie”, “It”, “The Shining”). George Orwell entered this rating for the first time and took second place with the novels “1984” and “Animal Farm”. The third most popular was Fyodor Dostoevsky (Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov, The Idiot).
The total circulation of Stephen King’s books in Russia since the beginning of 2021 amounted to 781.5 thousand copies, George Orwell’s – 482.6 thousand, and Fyodor Dostoevsky’s – just over 394 thousand.
These writers overtook the rating of the Russian Book Chamber, the author of popular Russian detective stories, Daria Dontsova, who took fifth place. In fourth place is Erich Maria Remarque.
