“The Federal Penitentiary Service has announced a monetary reward for the capture of a fugitive criminal. Alkhanov Magomed Khasanovich, born in 1982, who escaped from custody from the department of a psychiatric hospital on October 26, is wanted. A reward of 100 thousand rubles has been announced for rendering assistance in the search and capture of the criminal, ”the agency’s source said.
Alkhanov escaped from the hospital on October 26 and was put on the wanted list at the same time. In the Astrakhan hospital, he underwent a medical examination.
Alkhanov was detained this summer. He was accused in an armed assault case. Investigators believed that on February 29, 2000, as part of a gang under the general leadership of Basayev and Khattab, he attacked servicemen of the 6th company of the 104th regiment of the 76th Pskov division of the Airborne Forces. The attack took place in the mountains near the village of Ulus-Kert, Shatoisky District, Chechnya. As a result, 84 servicemen were killed and four were injured of varying severity.
Earlier, Alkhanov was convicted under the article on banditry.
