The website of the Russian edition Regnum stopped working in Belarus

In Belarus, the website of the Russian media Regnum stopped opening without using a VPN. On this drew attention Euroradio. Based on the fact that blocking bypass tools help to gain access to the publication, the journalists concluded that the site was deliberately blocked. Euroradio notes that earlier in Belarus Russian news outlets were not blocked, only the subsidiary Belarusian resource of Komsomolskaya Pravda, while the main site is still available. In addition, in May 2021, the Ministry of Information of the country restricted access to the sports website sports.ru “in connection with a violation of Belarusian legislation on gambling” after the co-founder of the resource criticized Lukashenka and the actions of the security forces.

In 2018, the Minsk City Court sentenced to five years in prison with a suspended sentence and a ban on leaving Belarus for three employees of the Russian agency Regnum, accused of inciting ethnic hatred. Dmitry Alimkin, Yuri Pavlovets, Sergei Shiptenko were found guilty of deliberate acts aimed at inciting ethnic hatred or hatred by a group of persons. In fact, they remained at large, reports Euroradio.

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Information of Belarus blocked the websites of Deutsche Welle and Nastoyaschye Vremya, as well as the resource of the Belarusian newspaper Novy Chas. Websites keep opening while using VPN.
