In the United States, a 38-year-old Russian citizen Vladimir Dunaev was extradited from South Korea, who is accused of cybercrimes. About it it says on the website of the US Department of Justice.

According to the agency, Dunaev is a member of a hacker group that used the Trickbot malware. According to the US Department of Justice, from November 2015 to August 2020, attacks were carried out on “millions of computers” around the world. In particular, they affected banks, schools, healthcare, agriculture and energy companies, as well as individuals.

Dunaev is accused of developing malware for the Trickbot Group. The Ministry of Justice claims that the citizen of the Russian Federation and his accomplices stole money, confidential information, and also damaged the computer systems of “unsuspecting victims.”

The Russian is charged with conspiracy to commit computer fraud and aggravated identity theft, conspiracy to commit information technology and banking fraud, and conspiracy to launder money. He faces up to 60 years in prison.

In June of this year, similar charges were brought against Latvian citizen Anna Witte, whom the US Department of Justice also considers to be a member of a hacker group that used Trickbot.
