From November 1, Russia will stop supplying coal to Ukraine, which is used by Ukraine for energy needs. About it reported Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities Andriy Gerus.
“We are talking about grade A (anthracite) and P (lean) coal. Such coal was imported by DTEK (Luganskaya TPP, Krivorozhskaya TPP), Donbassenergo (Slavyanskaya TPP) and Tekhnova (Darnitskaya, Sumy and Chernigovskaya TPPs), ”Gerus wrote in the message.
He emphasized that the supply of steam coal, and not coking coal, is being stopped, and added that Russia’s actions are being repeated, as in the fall of 2014.
On August 30, Ukrenergo announced a critical situation with coal reserves at Ukrainian thermal power plants. On October 23, the media reported that the Slavyanskaya thermal power plant, located in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, stopped working due to a lack of coal.
