Andrei Skripkin, detained in Belarus on suspicion of the murder of ex-banker Mikhail Yakhontov and his family in the west of Moscow, committed suicide in a Belarusian remand prison. About it informs Interfax citing a source.
“Last night Skripkin committed suicide in his cell,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
On Wednesday, the Kuntsevsky court of Moscow arrested Skripkin in absentia on charges of murder (part 2 of Article 105) Yakhontov, his wife and their eight-year-old son. After that, during interrogation, Skripkin confessed.
“According to him, the murder was not planned and happened spontaneously,” a source said to the agency.
Skripkin said that he came to Yakhontov to discuss financial matters, but the dialogue gradually turned into a conflict. “A fight ensued, during which Skripkin knocked down Yakhontov, tied him, and then all family members. Failing to get Yakhontov to fulfill his demands, Skripkin dealt with all family members and left by car for Belarus, ”the agency’s source said.
