The head of the information and publishing department of the Melekess diocese, Priest Georgy Sukhoboky, was fired after he wrote on social networks that he was ready to “shake hands” with Alexei Navalny. About this priest wrote в Facebook.

The reason for the dismissal was not disclosed in the corresponding decree. The document is dated October 31, 2021, and was signed by Bishop Diodorus of Melekess and Cherdaklinsky.

On October 20, Sukhobokiy spoke about Navalny on Facebook after the news of the Sakharov Prize being awarded to the founder of FBK. “I used to criticize him, but today I’m ready to shake his hand,” wrote the priest. Later in the comments, he noted that because of the publication, he “started having problems.”

In an interview with Dmitry Nizovtsev priest reportedthat the next day after the post on the social network, Bishop Diodorus called him. He said that Sukhoboky attracted the attention of the “authorities”. “I was told that there should not be such a press secretary. Well, well, you have achieved your goal, it won’t be, ”the priest summed up.
