In Astrakhan, the court denied insurance payments to the daughter of a doctor who died from coronavirus

The Kirovsky District Court of Astrakhan refused to collect insurance payments imposed by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Lucia Aisaeva, daughter of the doctor Artur Aisayev, who died from COVID-19. About it writes publication “Takie Dela”.

In a conversation with the publication, Aisayeva said that her father contracted a coronavirus infection while working at the Astrakhan Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. In November last year, he died from the effects of the disease.

Despite the fact that, according to the presidential decree, the relatives of doctors who died from coronavirus are entitled to insurance payments in the amount of 2.7 million rubles, Luciya Aisaeva did not receive the money. Six months after her father’s death, she turned to the prosecutor’s office.

At the same time, the psychiatric hospital said that the payment was not provided, since the case was allegedly not insured. Clinic staff believed that Aisayev had contracted COVID-19 outside the workplace. The doctor’s daughter went to court to appeal the hospital’s response. Representatives of the medical institution refused to create a medical commission and conduct an investigation, as well as disclose the details of a document that could confirm that the case was not insured.

At the same time, the hospital announced two cases in which the Social Insurance Fund paid the stipulated money to the relatives of doctors who died from coronavirus, but Aisayeva could not find out how these situations differed from her case. She plans to appeal the decision to the Astrakhan Regional Court. In addition, Lucia published a petition demanding the implementation of the presidential decree on “covid” payments to the families of the deceased doctors.

In May 2020, Vladimir Putin signed decree on the provision of additional insurance guarantees to medical workers involved in the fight against coronavirus. The decree applies to doctors, middle and junior personnel, as well as ambulance drivers.

According to the document, if a physician becomes infected with COVID-19 during work and dies, his family is entitled to a one-time insurance payment of 2.75 million rubles. If the health of a health worker is harmed after contracting coronavirus infections, then he is obliged to pay 68.8 thousand rubles.
