Facebook will change its name to Meta. The social network itself will not be renamed

Facebook will change its name to Meta. About this during the presentation of the rebranding of the corporation stated Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The new name, reflecting the concept of the “metaverse”, will be given to the company, which, in addition to the social network of the same name, owns WhatsApp, Instagram, Oculus, as well as other services and applications. The social network Facebook itself will not be renamed.

On the night of October 5, a global outage occurred on the Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp platforms, which lasted for about six hours. Later, Mark Zuckerberg apologized to all users. “I know how much you rely on our services to stay in touch with your loved ones,” wrote he.
