Earlier it became known that Moldova continues negotiations with Gazprom to conclude a long-term contract. According to the current contract, signed for October, Moldova receives gas at a price of $ 790 per thousand cubic meters. The contract provides for the republic to receive 67% of the required volume.
On the eve of Moldova concluded a contract for a trial purchase of one million cubic meters of gas from the Polish company PGNiG. Then Moldova for the first time purchased fuel from an alternative source. This decision was made to assess the possibility of imports from other suppliers, as well as to balance the low pressure in the natural gas supply system. According to the government, this will not affect the tariff for consumers in any way.
On Friday, the Moldovan parliament announced the introduction of a state of emergency in the republic in connection with the gas crisis, for a period of 30 days – until November 20. Negotiations with Gazprom are ongoing, but the parties have not yet come to an agreement.
