Armenia may extradite to Russia a native of Chechnya, Salman Mukayev, who told about the torture in the Leninsky police department of Grozny. About it informs “New Newspaper”.
Mukayev was detained on February 13 last year. The department showed him a screenshot of the correspondence with the woman and announced that, judging by this correspondence, he was gay. After that, they put him on his knees, kicked him, then put him on a chair and began to strangle him, first with the bend of the elbow, then with a bag, the statement said. Then, according to Mukayev, they pulled his arms and legs back, tied them with duct tape, attached bare wires to his little fingers and shocked him.
Mukayev was forced to declare that he was gay and to name those with whom he allegedly met. Unable to withstand the torture, he called the name of his acquaintance by the name of Khasanbek. Khasanbek was also taken to the department and tortured.
After some time, Makayev was brought before an investigator. He promised that he would be given a suspended sentence for keeping cartridges. The investigator showed Mukayev a rusty horn from a machine gun and said that Salman had to declare in court that he picked up the horn on Ippodromnaya Street, kept it at home, the police found it during a search. After that, Mukayev was given a signature on blank sheets of paper.
Then the officers asked for the contacts of Mukayev’s relatives from the father’s side. His uncle and cousin arrived, and they were told that Mukayev had slept with men.
Before releasing Mukayev, at the police station a man in a brown coat forced him to sign an agreement on voluntary cooperation – Mukayev had to report the names of Chechen gays to the police and bring them to the police. Once free, Mukayev fled Russia with the help of human rights defenders. Doctors recorded that he had no skin on his little fingers in the places where the wires were connected, “a bruise of the soft tissues of the head, swelling in the back of the head.”
On September 8, Mukayev was supposed to fly from Armenia to Europe, but at the border control he was stopped by the police and told that he was put on the federal wanted list in Russia. According to the lawyer, a criminal case has been initiated against Mukayev on illegal storage of ammunition (part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code). According to the lawyer, this case was brought up against Mukayev 17 days after he was released from the police.
“Now my case hangs in the balance, I can be extradited at any time. I am very afraid for my safety, because at home they will simply torture me to death, ”Mukayev says on the video.
