Two more criminal cases were opened against the former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, under articles on organizing a criminal community and fraud. About it informs Interfax citing Furgal’s lawyer Boris Kozhemyakin.
Charges in these cases have not yet been brought, the defense has not been officially notified about them.
“At the moment, we have filed a motion to dismiss the murder case due to the lack of corpus delicti and are awaiting a decision on it,” the lawyer said.
Furgal’s son Anton wrote on his Instagram that “yesterday, October 20, his father was presented with a decision to initiate a criminal case under Art. 210 and art. 159 “. According to him, the first interrogation is scheduled for Monday, October 25.
Sergei Furgal was detained in July last year. According to the investigation, he organized the attempted murder of an entrepreneur and the murder of two more businessmen in 2004-2005. Furgal himself denies guilt and considers the case politically motivated. The criminal prosecution of Sergei Furgal sparked a wave of protests in the Khabarovsk Territory.
