The Ministry of Health confirmed the death of 16 people at the gunpowder factory near Ryazan, where the explosion took place

At the gunpowder factory “Elastic” in the village of Lesnoy, Ryazan region, where an explosion took place, and then a fire started, 16 people died. This was announced by the Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Alexey Kuznetsov, transfers Interfax.

“According to preliminary data at 11:30, 16 people died as a result of the incident. Medical psychologists and disaster medicine teams are working on the spot, ”Kuznetsov said.

As a result of the emergency, one person was injured, having received burns of 80% of the skin surface, he was evacuated to the regional hospital in serious condition. Health Minister Mikhail Murashko ordered to involve specialists-combustiologists from the N.N. Vishnevsky, added Kuznetsov.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of the Ryazan region reported the death of 15 people as a result of a fire. An explosion in the powder shop took place on the morning of October 22nd. After the explosion, a fire started.
