In Turkey, six foreigners, including four Russian citizens, were arrested on charges of military and political espionage (Article 328 of the Criminal Code), as well as in the preparation of attacks on Chechen oppositionists. The names of the detainees leads Hurriyet.
The defendants in the case were the Russians Abdulla Abdullaev, Ravshan Akhmedov, Beslan Rasaev and Aslanbek Abdulmuslimov, the Ukrainian Igor Efrim and the citizen of Uzbekistan Amir Yusupov. They face punishment from 15 to 20 years in prison.
Earlier it was reported that foreigners were detained at three addresses in Istanbul and at two in Antalya. The arrest operation was carried out on October 8 at about 03:00. Three pistols were seized from the suspects (one of them with a silencer and a laser sight).
According to Hurriyet, the weapons were acquired for attacks on Chechen opposition figures.
