The National Security Council of Ukraine approved new sanctions against 237 people who participated in the organization of the September elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in Crimea and Donbass, informs “Ukrainian Truth”.

The people included in the sanctions list “took a direct part in the voting, ensured the work on the elections in the territory of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.” “We continue to impose sanctions on all these people – today there are 237 people,” said NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov. But he did not name those who were included in the list.

Danilov announced the sanctions related to voting in the elections to the State Duma on their first day – September 17, transfers RBC. According to the NSDC secretary, Russia has no right to hold elections in the occupied Crimea and Donbass.

Then the NSDC secretary said that Ukraine had imposed sanctions against 53 members of territorial election commissions and 33 candidates for deputies. They are prohibited from entering the territory of Ukraine, and the assets of those subject to sanctions on the territory of the country should be blocked.

Danilov also promised that the restrictions will be extended to “international observers who will participate” in this farce. “

The meeting of the NSDC was convened on October 15 by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Following the meeting, sanctions were also imposed on the Russian chain of stores Mere (a project of the owners of the Russian chain of discounters Svetofor). In the summer, it was reported that the chain plans to open 40 stores in Ukraine by the end of the year. Now such a store works only in Bila Tserkva, Kiev region.

The NSDC secretary called the expansion of the Mere store chain an operation of the Russian special services.

The National Security and Defense Council also adopted the Defense Plan of Ukraine for the first time, transfers “24 channel”.
