In Russia, a record increase in cases and deaths from covid has been recorded per day since the beginning of the pandemic

In the Russian Federation, two anti-records have been set at once for the whole time since the beginning of the pandemic: in the number of new infections and those who died from coronavirus. 31,299 people fell ill, 986 people died. Most deaths are in Moscow – 72, in St. Petersburg – 67, in the Sverdlovsk region – 41, reported at the operational headquarters.

The leader in the number of new cases was Moscow – 6712. Then St. Petersburg (2345) and the Moscow region (1911).

Ministry of Health October 14 asked vaccinate and return to work for older doctors who previously went into isolation or retirement due to the pandemic.

In October, in most regions of Russia, the epidemiological situation worsened, infectious diseases wards and intensive care units are being filled, and the authorities are beginning to introduce new restrictions. According to the Ministry of Health, the current surge in the incidence is characterized by “a rapid increase in the number of cases, as well as a large number of patients who develop a virtually fulminant course of coronavirus infection – literally within two to three days, requiring resuscitation support.”
