“Important stories” discovered villas of almost fifty Russian families on the “French Ruble” – a resort on the French Riviera Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
Among property owners, in particular:
Arkady Rotenberg, one of Vladimir Putin’s closest friends. According to the publication, in 2011 he bought a villa for 35 million euros (about 1.5 billion rubles).
Alexander Ponomarenko (“investor of Putin’s palace”) through a French company owns land and real estate for 91 million euros (more than 6 billion rubles).
Andrei Klinovsky is the son-in-law of the ex-prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov and the son of the “owner of Rublyovka” Mikhail Klinovsky. Back in 2007, he bought a villa for 15 million euros (more than 500 million rubles).
Gavriil Yushvaev, known as “Garik Makhachkala”, was imprisoned for robbery in the 1980s, and now, together with the Klinovskys, is selling land in the Moscow region. In 1999, Yushvaev bought a cape on Cap-Ferrat for 66 million French francs. Then the cape cost a little more than 264 million, now – almost 1 billion rubles, the newspaper notes.
