Sergey Zuev was detained the day before in the framework of the case of the former Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova. According to one of Meduza’s sources, Zuev was sent for interrogation “to choose a measure of restraint.” Acquaintances of the rector clarified that he was taken from the hospital late in the evening, where he was after a hypertensive crisis, and interrogated for 30 hours.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the media reports about the detention of Zuev. He is suspected of embezzling more than 21 million rubles from the Foundation for New Forms of Education Development (FNFRO), which was headed by ex-Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova, transfers RIA Novosti.
