The investigation has seized the car and apartment of the ex-head of “Open Russia” Andrei Pivovarov in St. Petersburg. About it reported lawyer of the politician Sergey Badamshin.
According to the lawyer, the arrest was imposed in order to secure a possible fine of up to 500 thousand rubles. Badamshin emphasizes that two “other people’s” apartments were also arrested. One of them was sold many years ago, while the other does not exist.
The day before became knownthat the arrested politician is charged with leading the activities of an undesirable organization in the form of posting 30 posts on his public page on Facebook.
May 31 Pivovarova removed from the plane that took off from the St. Petersburg airport Pulkovo, and was taken to the FSB office at the airport. In the future, he presented the charge under Art. 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – carrying out the activities of an undesirable organization.
Pivovarov, speaking with a speech in court, asked him to choose any measure not related to arrest, since “he himself is interested [в суде] even more than the investigation ”, because he is confident that he will be able to prove his innocence. Pivovarov stressed that the charges against him have nothing to do with the real goals of the court. In his opinion, everything that happens is connected with the desire to limit his political activities before the elections to the State Duma. He also named the wording about the threat to the constitutional order by posting on Facebook is humiliating for the state.
According to the investigation, Pivovarov, while in Krasnodar in 2010, shared a post on Facebook with a call to support independent candidates in the municipal elections and thereby allegedly took part in the activities of an “undesirable organization”.
