The team of VTimes, which closed after the announcement of them as “foreign agents”, will create a new media outlet VPost. About this journalists announced in your Telegram channel.

“VPost is a complete media. We apply for media registration. So far we work only in social networks, but a website will appear soon. We look forward to interesting partnerships with organizations, companies and other media, ”the publication says.

Also, journalists said that the editorial office is planning to expand the staff. Now editors Boris Safronov, Philip Sterkin and Kirill Kharatyan, as well as authors Lyudmila Koval, Mikhail Overchenko, Anna Geroeva, Ekaterina Grobman, Elena Komarova, Anna Tretyak and Margarita Lyutova will work on the materials.

On May 14, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation entered VTimes into the register of “foreign media agents”.

The publication was created in the fall of 2020 by former Vedomosti journalists who quit in protest against the appointment of a new leadership. In June 2020, Andrei Shmarov officially became the editor-in-chief of Vedomosti, despite the dissatisfaction of the editorial board. After that, the deputy head of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Aleksey Volin called for the immediate dismissal of the newspaper’s staff. Later it became known that all the deputy editor-in-chief had left Vedomosti in protest against Shmarov’s appointment.
