The World Anti-Doping Agency has revoked the accreditation of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory. About it it says on the WADA website.
“The WADA Executive Committee approved the recommendation of the WADA Disciplinary Committee to cancel the“ approved ”status of the National Anti-Doping Laboratory in Moscow for the analysis of blood samples,” the agency said in a statement. The deprivation of accreditation in WADA was explained by the non-compliance of the Moscow laboratory with the International Standard and the Code of Ethics.
On October 8, the WADA Executive Committee voted on this issue. According to WADA, the Moscow laboratory can appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport within 21 days from the date of its receipt.
In January 2020, the World Anti-Doping Agency will temporarily suspended licensed by the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory. Earlier, the WADA Executive Committee stripped the Russian anti-doping agency of compliance status.
In 2015, WADA published a report on the widespread use of doping in Russian sports. Because of this, the Russian national team was not allowed to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Athletes approved by the International Olympic Committee performed under a neutral flag.
