Judicial station No. 4 of Yaroslavl dropped the criminal case against two former orderlies. They beat a patient in the elevator during hospitalization. How informs TASS, the parties are reconciled.
Earlier, a court in Yaroslavl recognized the forced hospitalization of a woman in a psychiatric hospital as lawful.
At the end of August, a video appeared on social networks with a beating of a resident of Yaroslavl by orderlies during hospitalization. The footage shows how the staff of the team of the local psychiatric hospital forcibly drag the woman with her hands tied into the elevator. She resisted and in the elevator the orderlies hit her in the side and on the head.
After that, the investigating authorities opened two criminal cases – under articles on intentional infliction of slight harm to health and on illegal hospitalization in a medical organization providing psychiatric care. The psychiatric orderlies were fired.
The head of the Yaroslavl Regional Psychiatric Hospital, Alexander Petrov, said that the girl posed a danger to herself and those around her, and the hospitalization was necessary and justified.
“The doctor’s decision to admit her to the hospital was absolutely correct and objective. She was immediately examined by all specialists in our clinic. This is a psychiatrist, therapist, neurologist and surgeon. To date, her condition does not cause any concern, “- reported Petrov.
