The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has arrested for two months the former vice-president of Sberbank and the former deputy minister of education of Russia Marina Rakova, who is accused of fraud. About it informs press service of the court.
Last week, Rakova became a defendant in the case of embezzlement of more than 50 million rubles. She is suspected of lobbying for the allocation of funds from the budget to the Fund for New Forms of Education Development, in which she was the CEO, in 2019. The money was intended for government contracts for the federal project “Teacher of the Future”. Examinations revealed signs of falsification in reports on two “scientific investigations”.
Rakova’s home and work were searched, and they did not detain her. But the very next day the woman did not come for interrogation, turned off all phones and disappeared. After that, Rakova was put on the federal wanted list.
6 october became knownthat Rakova was detained and is in the Main Investigation Department of the GUMVD in Moscow. On the same day, information appeared that on October 4 her fired from Sberbank “in accordance with applicable labor law.”
In 2019, Rakova served as Deputy Minister of Education. She left the position in March 2020 and moved to Sberbank as vice president.
