New videos of the torture of prisoners in the Saratov Regional Tuberculosis Hospital of the Federal Penitentiary Service No. 1 have been published. Recordings made public human rights organization Gulagu.net.
The first video shows a man lying naked on the floor. A gauze bandage covers his groin, and people in black clothes are stretching their hands by the bandages tied to them. One of them pees on the man’s face. He tries to get up, but they shout to him “Lie down, you thing ****** [чертова]”. The video is dated July 23, 2020.
The second video was filmed 15 minutes after the first one. A man who looks like a man from the first video lies on a bed with his hands tied to it with bandages and his legs raised at the head of the bed. Someone behind the scenes says: “Lead, do not put anything, just lead.” In another video, four naked men are holding each other by the genitals and are calling information about themselves on camera.
Another torture in the Saratov prison hospital became known the day before, when the Gulagu.net project reported that it had more than 40 GB of video, documents and photos at its disposal. These files testify to cases of mass torture in Russian penitentiary institutions. The inmates were raped and beaten, and they extorted money and information using torture. Gulagu.net founder Vladimir Osechkin statedthat he received a video from a former prisoner-programmer who “was beaten and tortured himself, and then they decided to use him as a professional”.
After publications in the media, the IC department for the Saratov region aroused a criminal case under the article on violent acts of a sexual nature committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. Head of the Saratov Federal Penitentiary Service resigned.
