In Chechnya, security officials came to the home of the parents and family of Magomed Alamov’s brother, the head of the North Caucasus branch of the Committee against Torture. About this Alamov himself told in a conversation with the edition “Kavkaz.Realii”.
According to the human rights activist, the district police officer and two men in civilian clothes demanded that his relatives provide information about him, his phone number and whereabouts. The security officials explained their actions by the “population census,” Alamov specified, stressing that no one came to the other residents of the Sernovodskoye village.
Alamov added that during the conversation with the security officials, his relatives “noticed in the documents the name of the Lulaevs also from Sernovodsky, whose house was burned down in 2014, as one of the members of this family, according to the security officials, joined the militants.”
“Knowing what the“ interest ”of police officers in the Chechen Republic is, I want to declare that I do not engage in any prohibited activity, do not smoke, do not drink or use any narcotic or ‘strong’ substances and am not involved in anything illegal. I am writing this in case something illegal and prohibited for circulation is found in my possession, ”Alamov said in a statement published on the Telegram channel of the Committee Against Torture.
