In France, in the port of Dunkirk, a ship with a ton of cocaine was detained, presumably on board of which there were Russians. About it informs TASS.
The Russian embassy has asked the French authorities for information about the incident.
“The embassy is aware of the detention of the ship’s crew in the port of Dunkirk. We turned to the French authorities for official information on this issue, ”Alexander Makogonov, head of the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission in Paris, told the agency.
The arrest of the vessel, on board which found more than a ton of cocaine, became known the day before. According to AFP, 20 crew members, led by a Romanian captain, were also detained. According to the agency, the detainees included Russians, Ukrainians, Filipinos and Ethiopians.
A police source told the agency that a Liberian-flagged vessel was sailing from Brazil to a northern European port.
The investigation is being carried out by the Organized Crime Service.
