In Ulan-Ude, the Sovetsky District Court fined Natalya Semyonova, leader of the Buryat regional branch of the Yabloko party, 20,000 rubles for taking part in the “funeral” of the elections. The authorities equated the staged mourning event with the participation of two people to an unsanctioned rally.
About the fine Natalia Semenova told on Instagram. She noted that “this money could be enough for a real coffin.”
A week ago, the oppositionist, together with activist Alexei Karnaukhov, brought a model of the coffin with the inscription “Elections” to the central square of Ulan-Ude, imitating the funeral of this democratic procedure. After that, the security forces issued protocols for holding an unauthorized rally.
