But the government, the main and almost the only criterion for getting into which served as evidence of ideological Brexite purity and uncritical dedication to the idea of ​​breaking with the EU, is by no means ready to open borders for foreign labor. At the same time, staying in a strange delusion that Britain is still a promised land for all foreigners who only sleep and see how, under any conditions, they can get at least for a while on the jelly banks of milk rivers. But this is no longer the case.

Why do the majority in all polls now regret Brexit, but are not ready at the same time to demand a return to the EU? Why is the government’s rating declining, but slowly and smoothly, while Johnson, who has repeatedly been caught in obvious lies and has not at all proven his competence, largely retains his popularity and seems to be a completely Teflon figure? And what, by the way, is wrong with the opposition, above all with the Laborites? Why are they in no rush to take advantage of the government’s blunders to build up political capital? Why are they behaving like some kind of British Zyuganovites who do not expect to ever return to power?

The charming Lisa Nandy is one of the most influential figures in the Labor Party, possibly the future leader of the opposition. But her recent interview with Newsnight, the evening analyst program, is unlikely to cement her reputation. The host asks her if Brexit works from her point of view? And what does the future leader answer? Here’s what: “I don’t think the problem is that we left the European Union.” That is, in fact, the Tory echoes, supports the dubious position of the government instead of using its mistakes for the purpose of political struggle.
