The former head of Vladivostok, Oleg Gumenyuk, was accused of accepting bribes on an especially large scale from a company providing funeral services. About it reported in the regional administration of the UK.
Gumenyuk was detained. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure.
According to the investigation, in the period from 2019 to 2021, Gumenyuk received money for general patronage from the leadership of the Necropolis unitary municipal enterprise. In total, over 19.5 million rubles were transferred to the official.
In the spring, searches were carried out at Gumenyuk’s. Then the head of the necropolis cemeteries in Vladivostok was arrested and accused of taking bribes for illegally issuing permits for the installation of formwork, as well as for burying urns with ashes in them.
The former head of Necropolis, Igor Babynin, will also stand trial in the 2019 case. He is charged with receiving more than 326 million rubles for the fact that only two companies organize funerals in city cemeteries.
Oleg Gumenyuk wrote a letter of resignation from the post of mayor of Vladivostok on May 19. This happened after the complaints of the President’s Permanent Representative to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev and the regional governor Oleg Kozhemyako, who said that the city was allocated significant money for development, but there were no qualitative changes.
